Huis Jabes provides every aspect of physical and emotional care to its inhabitants. Every creature comfort to make them feel at home, and continue living life as close to normal as is possible under the circumstances.
This includes:
- rent
- all meals and drinks
- schooling, books and toys
- transport
- clothes, shoes and toiletries
- all professional services including medical, dentistry, therapy, legal and social
- furniture
- household appliances
Support a Survivor
You can change and protect the lives of a woman and her children with only R100.
The running cost per person at Huis Jabes per day amounts to approximately R100. Total operational costs for the house average R60 000 per month.
We rely solely on donations to provide care to the survivors: without it, our doors will close.
Your contribution of as little as R100 per month can help us to turn victims into survivors!

R500 will feed a family of 5 for a month!
Many families around us are struggling. That’s why WelgemoedCID and the SOS TRUST have partnered to provide food hampers to 20 families within our wider community. This initiative is in collaboration with nearby schools to assist families in need.
Contribute your time and talent
The women and children at Huis Jabes require specialised care to recover from the abuse they have suffered in order to be fully rehabilitated. We provide what we can, but need the voluntary, committed help of skilled professionals. Are you able to donate your time for any period? Once a month, perhaps weekly? We urgently need:
- Trauma and clinical counselors
- Social workers
- Medical services (dentists, general practitioners, dermatologists, physio therapists, occupational therapists)
- Psychologists
- Industrial psychologists
- Legal advisors
- Recruitment agents
- General household upkeep (plumbing, electrical, garden services, painting and maintenance)
